Signed Christian Siple Kentucky Rifle. 43 1/2 inch, 45 Caliber Octagon Rifled Barrel with rifle sights, signed in script “C Siple”. Flint lock marked “Warranted” with single trigger control. Plain full-stock maple or ash stock with brass hardware, including a four piece engraved patch box with “Whale Tail” finial. Christian Siple worked for Jacob Haeffer in Lancaster, PA circa 1800, then moved to Middletown, Pa circa 1802. Condition: Gun has been restored with metal parts showing polishing. Lock is a reconversion. Stock is solid with added coat of finish and has been sanded. Replacement hard wood ramrod. Missing original flat brass barrel keys. Lock functions and gun has a shootable bore. Nice display piece or to go farther with restoration. SOLD
Joseph Douglass Huntingdon County Rifle with accessories

40 1/2 inch, .40 caliber, octagon rifled barrel stamped “J. Douglass”. Henry Parker marked percussion lock, controlled by double set triggers with the front trigger being “lathe turned”. Rifle sights. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware including an engraved four piece patch box with spear point finial. Beautifully engraved brass side plate with floral detail. Two coin silver inlays consisting of heart shaped thumb piece and hunter’s star on the cheek piece. Comes with original accoutrements which include a screw tip powder horn with leather possibles bag, original bullet mold, charger, worm attachment, a patch knife with bone handle marked “Sanderson”, caps, and nice wooden display case with glass lid. Rifle also comes with a copy of “Common Ground” magazine in which the rifle is featured in an article entitled “19th Century Guns are Big Game for Collectors”. Condition: Rifle is in superb condition with traces of original black piano stock finish. Excellent markings and mechanics, very shootable bore. Accoutrements are in used, but not abused condition. This is a chance to own a complete rig in great condition.
Attributed Young Family Rifle

Lehigh style carved rifle attributed to one of the Young Family. 36 1/2 inch 50 caliber rifled octagon barreled rifle. “Riddle” marked percussion lock with single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware including engraved four piece patch box, similar to those seen on signed Young family guns. Floral incised carved design behind cheek piece, flat barrel keys, rifle sights, Lehigh style pinched trigger guard. Condition: Overall good, with traces of original stock finish. Good mechanics and bore. No visible restoration. Lock is a conversion from flint and barrel has been cut back from original length. Nice looking rifle.
Extremely rare Huntingdon Co. rifle by B. J. Koughe (SOLD)
Extremely rare Huntingdon Co. rifle by B. J. Koughe. 58 caliber 40 inch octagonal barreled smoothbore rifle signed in script “B. J. Koughe”. Rifle is percussion with typical Huntingdon traits: stepped buttplate, turned trigger, spear-point patchbox finial and Huntingdon style stock profile. Stock is of curly maple and has been cleaned and also has 2 foot of the fore stock replaced being poorly done. Rifle has 18 silver inlays with several replaced and one missing along with several on the forestock which weren’t replaced when that was done. Saddleplate has 5 piercings, but is missing. Golcher percussion lock which functions fine. Patchbox is four piece with eight piercings and nicely engraved. Beautiful engraved silver eagle inlay on the cheek. Although in need of restoration, this is a rare rifle with only 5 rifles by this maker known to exist to this seller.
WORLD’S FAIR PARIS 1889 PRIZE PINFIRE SHOTGUN (SOLD)
29 ½ in twist steel 16 gauge pinfire shotgun. Top of rib marked “Grand Prize of World’s Fair 1889” according to my translator, which was located in Paris that year. Beautifully carved stock of walnut with sharp wrist checkering. Back action pinfire locks marked “valence” and “guenimand” respectively with and inlaid silver plate with gold wire work on each. Opening lever also features an inlaid shield of the same pattern. Condition of the gun is excellent with a few minor handling marks.

Large Siler flint lock controlled by a single trigger, which functions fine. Curly maple stock with well executed Lancaster style carving with the original owners initials carved behind the cheek. Brass furniture and silver hunter’s star on the cheek. 4 piece brass Lancaster style patchbox with line engraving. Rifle was made in 1994 and doesn’t appear to have seen much use.

50 caliber with 30 in half-round half-octagon barrel made in 1875. Letter states shipping destination and options. Rifle is in original dry well used condition with end of barrel being rounded from being pulled from saddle-scabbard. Solid gun with history.

42 inch 50 caliber rifled barrel with rifle sights signed “W. Weiss” in script. Flintlock with single trigger. Curly maple fullstock with brass furniture including a Lancaster style 4 piece engraved patchbox. Brass hidden patchbox release in toe. Stock is incised carved with floral design behind cheek and line carving in front of cheek. Coin silver engraved “man on the moon” inlay on the cheek and a diamond silver thumb piece inlay. Flat barrel keys with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Aged patina with some peppery pitting. Reconverted Flintlock. Mechanically solid. Barrel has an obstruction roughly 6 inches down. Wood has been cleaned with an old coat of linseed oil. Small crack in forend. A nice Lancaster rifle by a not often seen maker.
Milliron Rifle (SOLD)
Rifle Signed “D.M.” for David Milliron, probable master of William Schreckengost.
40 caliber, 40 3/4 inch rifled octagon barrel signed “D.M.” in script for David Milliron of Putneyville, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Rifle has a Whitmore, Wolf, Duff and Co Pittsburgh, Pa percussion lock controlled by double set triggers. Patent breech percussion ignition. Curly maple full stock with brass furniture including a 4 piece engraved patchbox with “No. 169” engraved on the lid. 4 German silver inlays, rifle sights, and original ramrod. Several characteristics common to Schreckengost rifles exist on this rifle. For example: stock profile, hour glass tang, pinned front sight, and patent breech ignition. According to family records Milliron left Putneyville about the time W. Schreckengost starts making guns around 19 or 20 years of age and W.S. wife’s maiden name is Milliron thus solidifying a connection. This rifle is 1 of 2 known signed examples of his work. CONDITION: Metal exhibits nice aged patina with light pitting around nipple. Wood has nice original looking finish with wrist repair and small forestock crack. Replaced piece of wood in front of lock and small piece missing from toe. One patchbox sideplate is missing. Lock and triggers are in need of adjustment and do not function properly.

Southern Made Flint Possibly Kentucky or Tennessee (SOLD)
42 inch, 54 caliber rifled octagonal swamped barrel with brass blade front sight and semi – buckhorn rear sight. Curly maple fullstock with brass furniture including 4 piece engraved patchbox with 5 piercings. Brass flat barrel keys, brass engraved toeplate with rectangular release button. Engraved brass “weeping” heart inlay on wrist and “bug” looking brass inlay on cheekpiece. Brass engraved sideplate with replaced flintlock. Iron crescent buttplate. Incised carved buttstock and carving on forestock, wrist and in front of the lock and sideplate. CONDITION: Replaced lock with replaced wood around the lock mortise. Barrel possibly stretched (?), but excellent job with continuous rifling to the breech. Wood has footlong forestock replacement with replaced nosecap and front pipe. Patchbox lid may be a replacement. Rod is a replacement. Stock retains some original finish with some cracks and handling marks. The rifle has some neat folk art features and deserves a better restoration. Hard to find these guns, as they were used very hard and few remain.
Rifle attributed to “Hess” of Lehigh County, Pa (SOLD)
42 1/2 inch 45 caliber unsigned smoothbore octagonal rifle barrel with”Lehigh” style sights with rcussion lock with single trigger (Lock sticks slightly). Gun has features and architecture associated with the Hess family of Lehigh County. CONDITION: Gun looks to be in great original condition with maybe having had a slight cleaning. Original ramrod. Wood has no cracks or repairs and gun is mechanically sound.

CONDITION: Stock is in excellent condition with small chip out of forestock and some light handling marks. Triggerguard is broken at tasil and missing a piece. Front four stock inlays are replaced with one missing. Toeplate is missing. Lock functions but needs some attention.

45 caliber 42 3/4 inch rifled octagon barrel signed “N.T” in script for Nimrod Teaff. Tight curl curly maple fullstock with brass and iron furniture. Brass “national Road” style 4 piece patchbox with 11 piercings, a Teaff style brass sideplate and iron trigger guard and buttplate. It has rifle sights, Golden State percussion style lock contolled by double set triggers and brass flat barrel pins. CONDITION: Metal has aged patina with some pittings and vise marks around the barrel. Brass patchbox has been cleaned and has hinge needing repair. Wood has been cleaned with burned out sections from use around lock along with a 3 inch sliver missing from front of lock. Brass keyes are replacements. Lock and triggers are original but are not functioning 100%. Rifle could use light restoration.

44 1/4 inch, 45 caliber smoothbore octagonal barreled rifle signed “John Shell”. Brass furniture with engraved 4 petal daisy finial, 4 piece patchbox with push button release in toeplate. Engraved brass sideplate with “No. 346”, 22 engraved silver inlays including “man in moon” inlay on cheek. Brass engraved saddle plate. “Keller Bros. Harrisburg” marked single bolt flintlock with single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with line carving from toe to trigger guard. CONDITION: Excellent mechanics. Wood has handling marks with what looks to be original finish with slight bleached out section in front of tailpipe and small chip in finish behind lock. Original striped rod. Metal has nice original patina. An excellent conditioned rifle with no restoration. The kind of rifle you don’t find anymore.
HENRY GIBBS LANCASTER FLINTLOCK (SOLD)
42 in 50 caliber octagonal barrelled Smoothbore Rifle, stamped “H. Gibbs Lancaster, pa.” Curly maple stock with one repair in front of the sideplate. Stock appears to have original finish with checkered pattern carving on the wrist. Barrel is held by flat keys and exhibits line engraving at breech and around the sights. Brass furniture with 4 piece engraved pierced heart patchbox with daisy finial and push button release in the toeplate. Golcher two bolt flintlock, which appears to be a reconversion. Single trigger, which both lock and trigger function fine. Silver wrist escutcheon and cheek piece inlay with several crossed flying arrows engraved on it. Rifle has original striped ramrod with worm tip on it. This gun is in excellent condition and an excellent example of a late Lancaster flint maker.
EARLY ALLEN MARTIN RIFLE (SOLD)
40 in 58 caliber half round, half octagon rifled barrel signed “ A. MARTIN” in script. Owner has stated this was built early in his career. Siler made flintlock lightly engraved (possibly by Martin) and controlled by a turned tail pierced single trigger. Brass furniture with engraved 2 piece daisy finial patchbox(which has toe and extra flint inside). Stock is of curly maple with dimensions: 2in wide butt, 13 ¾ in length of pull, and 2in drop at heel. Raised carved back to back “c” scroll carving behind the cheek. Floral carving behind tang and tailpipe and in front of the cheek. Nice plain early style brass sideplate. Condition of the rifle is excellent with no damage. Brass is fading to a mellow golden color. An excellent early example of a respected contemporary maker for half the price of a new one.

41 INCH 44 CALIBER rifled octagonal barrel stamped “Forker”. John Forker worked in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Mercer County and was a general in the War of 1812 under Oliver Hazzard Perry in Erie. Gun has full curly maple stock with brass hardware. 4 piece engraved patchbox with friction release. Single trigger with London warranted percussion lock. Flat barrel keys with brass plates. CONDITION: Fine condition with beautiful wood. Replaced piece in front of lock and repaired crack at the nose and crack at the toeplate . Brass hardware has golden color with one barrel key plate missing. Metal has nice patina and gun is mechanically sound.

CONDITION: Wood has nice finish with evidence of repaired wrist. Reconverted lock. Original ramrod with worm attachment. A plain, but nice looking rifle by a scarce maker.

Brass furniture with a four piece patchbox with 9 piercings. Full curly maple stock with double set triggers(one lathe turned), Golcher percussion lock with brass “mustache sideplate”. Silver shield cheekpiece inlay and silver thumbpiece. Brass line engraved full saddleplate. Original striped ramrod. CONDITION: Overall great patina finish on metal. Wood retains original varnish with replaced forestock. Approximately 12 inches of wood. Otherwise an excellent rifle.
BUCKS COUNTY RIFLE ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN SHULER (SOLD)
42 in 56 Caliber Octagonal Swamped Smoothbore Rifle attributed to John Shuler of Bucks County Pa. Brass furniture including side-opener engraved bucks county stlye patchbox with release in the toeplate(release is stuck). Two inch wide buttstock with stock of plain curly maple. Stock has coat of added finish and has several stress cracks(one in buttstock and one in nosecap area). Replacement ramrod and converted to percussion lock marked “sharpe”(appears to be original flint plate) controlled by a nice handmade turned tip trigger. Lock works but needs attention. Line carving following slope of stock(possibly retraced) also 2 line carving out the forestock. A plain rifle by an early maker and easily restored.
CENTRE COUNTY RIFLE ATTRIBUTED TO DAVID YOUNG (SOLD)
38 in 48 caliber 1 in octagonal barrelled rifle attributed to david young, first of Middleburg, Snyder County, then of Boalsburg, Centre County Pa. Leman Lancaster Percussion Lock controlled by a turned trigger, double set triggers, which function fine. Brass furniture with a nicely engraved 4 piece patchbox, also nice engraved brass sideplate. Curly maple stock with no repairs, but there is a stress crack in front of the triggerguard, but seems stable and a small crack along the forestock. Stock exhibits what looks like original finish with maybe an applied coat of linseed oil. Pierced brass saddleplate with engraving and 14 coin silver inlays of which one is missing a tip. Barrel has original sights with an extra plugged dovetail and bone or ivory insert in the front. Original ramrod and a shootable bore. A fine example of upper Susquehanna quality.
ATTRIBUTED JOHN MEWHIRTER RIFLE (SOLD)
44 1/2 in 45 caliber octagonal slightly swamped smooth bore barrel rifle attributed to John Mewhirter Chambersburg, Franklin County. Rifle is unsigned, but exhibits features similar to known Mewhirter rifles (stock shape, side plate and patch box). Plain curly maple stock with no visible cracks or repairs and exhibits what appears to be original finish. Stock is also incised carved with a nice dished molding line running from the toe to the trigger guard. Original single bolt jas. Golcher percussion lock controlled by handmade turned tip single trigger, which functions fine. 4-piece line engraved “q” finial brass patch box with release in the toe plate. Brass furniture with 2-coin silver inlays (thumb piece and an engraved “man in the moon” on the cheek). Original sights on barrel with tip of tang broken off. A high condition well-made rifle for not a lot of money.
SOMERSET COUNTY RIFLE ATTRIBUTED TO JACOB MIER (SOLD)
39 ½ in 40 caliber rifled octagonal barreled rifle attributed to Jacob Mier Somerset County, Pa. Rifle is stocked in curly maple and has a period brass repair around the tang and several cracks around the triggerguard. There is also a 3in piece added behind the muzzle cap. 19 inlays of brass and coin silver with one missing and one of the silver forestock inlays being a replacement. Engraved 4 piece patchbox with release in the toe and 7 piercings. Golcher style percussion lock with double set triggers, which function fine. A good example of Mier’s work for a reasonable price.
S. M. SHILLITO SIGNED RIFLE (SOLD)
43 in 50 caliber rifled octagonal barreled rifle signed S. M. SHILLITO in script. Brass hardware with engraved 4 piece patchbox. Curly maple stock with period wrist repair and cracks around lock and a 3in chunk missing out of the forestock. Gun must have been fastened to a wall since there is a screwhole through the patchbox on the inside. Bidwell warranted lock fastened by one bolt(no sideplate). Rifle is in untouched condition and has seen some hard use.
LEHIGH RIFLE ATTRIBUTTED TO HENRY HUNSICKER MACUNGIE TWP LEHIGH COUNTY PA (SOLD)
37 inch 45 caliber smoothbore octagonal barrel possibly shortened. Two bolt London warranted marked lock which appears to be original and sticks slightly. Lehigh style pinched trigger guard. Brass 4 piece patchbox with a floral finial. Stock is of plain curly maple and is in good original condition with the exception of a 7 inch sliver missing on the forestock, which appears to have been that way for many years. Stock exhibits incised carving behind the cheek piece and a fleur-de-lis design behind the tailpipe. Engraved eight pointed brass star on the cheek. Stock has profile and style of several signed Hunsicker rifles and we feel it is definitely one of his rifles in great condition.

Rare signed Frederick Stover Rifle. 45 caliber 39 inch rifled octagonal barrel signed in script “F. Stover”. Stover was listed in Maryland and later in York Co. the latter of which is where this rifle is believed to have been produced. Patchbox is four-piece whale-tail finial with pleasing light engraving. Lock is flint,possible reconversion, with double set triggers that function fine. Brass flat barrel keys and faceted ramrod pipes. Stock is of curly maple with a beautiful reddish finish with incised carving. A rare signed gun by a seldom seen maker.

Typical 4 piece “Q” finial engraved patchbox with 4 piercings. 22 engraved coin silver inlays with crossed flag inlays on the cheek. 2 silver forestock inlays missing ,and one on the cheek, with a wrist inlay missing points and a flag missing part of a staff. Stock is of curly maple with a crack running forward from the lock for 6 to 8 inches(should be stabilized). Nice original finish with strawberry vine pattern carving design behind cheek and raised panels between forestock inlays. Two carved panels in front of the lock and sideplate and raised tails with silver inlays behind lock and sideplate. Slight woodchip behind lock and in front of lead inlay on forestock. Double set triggers which function fine. Brass furniture with engraved saddleplate. Nice original rod with worm tip. An untouched fresh to the market Bedford never before photographed or published.

Brass furniture with 4 piece engraved patchbox missing one sideplate and having a replaced screw. Nice engraved sideplate and toeplate with patchbox release button in toeplate. 2 coin silver inlays and silver sight inserts with rifle barrel having an extra dovetail for an added sight. Double set triggers with Henry Parker lock which functions fine. Included with rifle is an unique pewter tipped powder horn with turned butt, a possibles bag with replaced strap and a Lyman bullet mold in original box.

William Ayres Signed Venango Co. Pa. Rifle. 32 caliber 41 inch rifled octagonal barrel. Rifle has been sleeved and has an excellent bore. Gun is signed “Wm. Ayres No. 92”. Ayres worked in Franklin, Pa Venango Co. 1827-1843. Rifle apparently was somebody’s favorite target rifle being sleeved and having a globe front sight and an added stationary rear peep with the original rear sight being removed. Patchbox is four piece and has 2 piercings. Stock is original made of curly maple and has nice finish with no visible cracks or repairs. Original Steele and Warren Albany percussion lock with double set triggers that function fine. Original ramrod with “worm” tip. Brass ramrod ferrels with tailpipe missing the flanges.
LEHIGH STYLE PLAIN RIFLE (SOLD)
42 inch 50 caliber smoothbore octagonal barreled Lehigh style rifle. Rifle exhibits a-typical Lehigh charecteristics: Lehigh sight with double lines in front and back of the rear sight, Lehigh stock profile with Lehigh buttplate, and Lehigh pinched trigger-guard. Stock has been cleaned and exhibits unusual cheek pieces with one on the left and one on the right side of the gun. Wrist has a repaired crack. Lock is non-original stamped “Bedford County” and has been neatly fitted in the mortise with additional wood. Toe-plate is an engraved flame-shaped piece. Interestingly styled rifle in need of restoration and priced accordingly.

42 inch 32 caliber rifled octagonal barreled Montgomery County, Ohio rifle signed “H. Warner in script. Rifle is in excellent condition with a superb original finish. Rifle has 9 seemingly brass inlays, all of which are engraved and includes an eight-pointed star on the cheek. Lock is original percussion made by Yardley and Sowers Philadelphia, Pa. and is controlled by double set triggers all of which function fine. Stock is of tight grained curly maple with nice patina with one small repair by the nose piece. Patchbox is atypical 4 piece box of that area with elliptical pierced finial and line engraving and a release button in the top of the comb. An excellent original signed Ohio rifle in super condition.

Rifle is untouched with piece of wood above lock also several missing along the forestock. No obvious repairs or restoration. Right out of the attic!

Jacob Albright Attributed Rifle. 32 caliber 32 ½ inch rifled octagonal barrel. Rifle has 17 silver inlays with 2 missing and several possible replacements. Nice brass saddleplate and 2 piece entry pipe. Patchbox is typical upper suquehanna style “whale-tail” finial with 7 piercings and a nice engraved lid with the release in the butt. Gun was probably flint and has been shortened at some point in it’s life. Single trigger and percussion lock functions fine. Gun has typical upper Susquehanna back to back “C” scroll carving and a unique “shell” inlay on the top of the comb{which is missing}. Ramrod is original but has a broken tip. Stock is original and exhibits pleasing reddish finish with grain to the curly maple stock. A fine rifle in need of restoration to bring it back to its former glory.

Samuel Baum Rifle. 50 caliber 37 inch half-round half- octagon smoothbore barrel signed “S. B.” in script for Samuel Baum, New Berlin, Pennsylvania. Rifle probably has been shortened at one time along with the stock wood. Curly maple stock with several Slivers missing on the forestock and has been cleaned. Rifle exhibits typical Baum incise carving and a brass Cheek inlay. Lock is a replacement, but is held in place with the Baum style “rams horn” sideplate. A honest but not costly example of a super makers work.

Gideon Angstadt Attributed Upper Susquehanna Rifle. 42 caliber 37 ½ inch rifled octagonal barrel. Rifle exhibits characteristics of guns signed by Gideon Angstadt of Lewisburg, PA. Patch box is atypical of Angstadt’s work and is a plain four piece style. Rifle has 12 silver inlays and a brass comb piece and brass saddle plate. Original percussion lock with double set triggers, which function fine and is held with Angstadt’s typical “mustache” shaped side plate. Stock is of tight grained curly maple and has a nicely done toe repair. Finish is not original and stock has been cleaned. Metal has been cleaned with cold blue being applied. Ram rod is an original having finish applied but retaining original “worm” tip.

Unsigned Huntingdon County Style Rifle. 45 caliber rifled 36 ½ rifled octagonal barrel. Rifle has Huntingdon County Architecture with stepped butt plate, spear point patch box finial, turned trigger and typical Huntingdon profile. 12 silver inlays grace this rifle with one or two possibly being replaced. Original percussion lock has broken spring and a replaced lock bolt. Side plate is nicely engraved with one replaced screw. Patch box is also nicely engraved. Stock has been cleaned and exhibits nice tiger maple grain and also some unusual incised carving, seldom seen on Huntingdon Rifles.

J.S. Johnston signed Huntingdon County Rifle. 40 caliber 41 ½ inch riffled octagonal barrel signed “J.S.J.” in script for J.S. Johnston McConnellstown, Huntingdon County PA. Rifle has typical Huntingdon architecture and traits: stepped butt plate, lathe-turned triggered, original black piano finish. Patch box is a cap box with a nice floral engraving on the lid and original patches inside. Stock is in attic condition but at one time was broken completely through the wrist with some wood missing. Nice engraved silver “hunter’s star” on the centerpiece. Rifle has period repair and seems solid.

Possible extra finish applied. 16 silver inlays with several replaced and several possibly added (the circles). Saddle plate is silver and nicely done. Lock is original percussion with double set trigger (sticky), which is also “lathe turned” in Huntingdon style. Original ramrod and a shootable bore.

Well Inlayed Percussion of Unknown Origin. Rifle has a captured patch box indicating possible Kentucky influence or manufacture. The patch box has engraving on the lid and around the fastening screws. Rifle has 21 silver inlays (several being replacements). 40 caliber 38 inch rifled octagonal barrel with 2 sight dovetails (one plugged, one with sight missing). Stock is of curly maple with nice grain and several cracks (one in fore stock and one in wrist). Ram rod looks original and has an interesting splice repair. Percussion lock functions fine controlled by double set triggers and held by a nicely engraved side plate (missing one screw), with liberty shield engraved on it. Toe plate is engraved, but missing one piece and has a crack on another section.

Rifle Of Unknown Origin. Many opinions have been cast on the origin of this rifle. It has the daisy style patch box finial of a Virginia gun, while also offering the characteristics of a rifle made in New England. 50 caliber 36 inch octagonal smooth bore barrel. Rifle appears to be converted from flint to percussion retaining the original flint plate made by Squire and Company. Rifle has an early look to it with an 1 7/8 inch butt. Stock is curly maple and possibly shortened to a half stock. Original ram rod and faceted ram rod ferrels.

Silas Bryant Flint Rifle (SOLD)
Silas Bryant Flint Rifle. 44 cal. rifled 44in. octagonal barrel signed Bryant at the breech. Rifle was featured in the 2016 KRA display at the NRA convention. Rifle has a reconverted lock with double set triggers. The curly maple stock has a nice finish. There is an expert repaired break at the tailpipe and an unknown added piece between the butt plate and patchbox. A slight crack exists just behind the nosecap. Rifle has 14 coin silver inlays, including a beautiful engraved eagle with owner’s initials engraved on it. An original ramrod with a worm comes with the rifle. Patchbox is plain with 3 piercing. Rifle has excellent eye appeal and is a fine example of an early western kentucky.
A.D. Kornman Swivel Rifle (SOLD)
A.D. Kornman Swivel, Spring Mills, Pennsylvania. 45 cal. rifled full wood panel, 34 in. octagonal barrel swivel rifle signed A. D. Kornman. Signature is faint, but traces can be seen on both barrels. One barrel is rifled with twist and other with straight cut rifling. Lock plated is marked ” no. 3″. There are 6 silver inlays on the curly maple stock. Panel on barrel is probably a replacement along with the patchbox lid. Full panel swivels are extremely rare and desirable.

Lehigh Rifle marked PB on patchbox. 45 cal. smooth bore with 44 in. octagon barrel. Full stock of curly maple in Lehigh style with no repairs or cracks. Typical Lehigh arrow side plate and trigger guard. Toe plate has 3 piercings shaped like tombstones. Lehigh sight with 2 lines in front and back of it. 2 piece patchbox with an engraved spread eagle design at the top and “PB” engraved on the lid in script. Lock is a period conversion from flint and is stamped “J.G. Aulenbach Lebanon”. This is a single trigger gun. Rifle retains excellent original finish and condition. This is 1 of 4 known rifles with this patchbox marking and form.

The front sight plate blade appears to be bone or ivory. There are 25 silver inlays plus a silver nose piece, toe plate and saddle plate. Tang is broken and crack exists near the toe.
